Professor Han Shen is a professor of Tourism Management at Fudan University. She is the Director of Culture and Tourism Brand Studies Base, the Academy of Tourism Research Institute (Data Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China). Deputy Director of the Technology Innovation Center of Calligraphy and Painting Digitization, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China. Committee Member of Geographical Society of China, Consultant Member of Professional Committee of Smart & Immersive Tourism of China Culture and Entertainment Industry Association. Co-founder of China Tourism Behavior Research Academic Alliance, Guest Researcher of the China Academy of Social Sciences.

Dr. Shen’s expertise area is consumer behavior, service marketing and management, destination marketing and branding. She has published more than 100 academic research papers and 10 academic monographs. She has conducted 20 research grants at national and provincial levels as Principle Investigator, and more than 30 research grants as Co-PI. Dr. Shen serves as the chief editor, guest chief editor, editorial board, reviewer of several SSCI and CSSCI academic journals, she is also a member of many think tanks in China, and serves as the Tourism Expert for many provincial governments. She is the forum planner of the World Culture & Tourism Conference,  Asia-Pacific Tourism Forum, Maritime Silk Road Summit Forum, etc.

Dr. Shen is honored with the “Outstanding Talent of Fudan University 2025”, “Expert of Tourism” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China. She won the “Best Author Contribution Award” by the Emerald Publishing Group in 2016, and many best paper awards. She also achieved the national MTA Excellent Case Award and Model Teaching Course Award by the Ministry of Education of China and Shanghai Education Commission.
